Cascina degli Ulivi is located in Novi Ligure, a small town in the lower Piedmont, in northern Italy. This area has a long history of being a key throughfare, hence the presence of so many strongholds, castles, villages and museums. Worthy of a visit among the Castles of High Monferrato are the ones of San Cristoforo, Tassarolo, Lerma, Mornese and Casaleggio, as well as Gavi’s stronghold and town centre. Another place of interest is the fortress of Acqui Terme, not to mention the various chuches and religious buildings such as the Abbeys of Santa Croce, Rivalta, and Santa Giustina.
Surrounding us we also have the Piedmont Appennine mountains with their evocative landscapes and all the small villages and historical sites to discover via numerous walking tracks. Particularly interesting are Tobbio, Ebro and Antola. For those who prefer river swimming in summer very good places are Lavagnina springs and ford and Capanne Marcarolo Natural Reserve.
